We want your first appointment to feel calm, unhurried and useful.

Whether you are joining us for routine dental care, have a specific concern, feel nervous about visiting the dentist or are considering treatment to improve your smile, your first visit is a chance for us to get to know you and understand what matters to you.

You’ll have time to talk through your dental history, any worries you have, and anything you would like to change about your dental health or appearance.

- Your patient journey -

If you’re visiting us for the first time, we’ll take the time to get to know you, understand your concerns and talk through what you’d like to achieve. Here’s what you can typically expect at you first visit.

The journey in four simple steps

We’ll start with a friendly conversation your concerns, dental history and what you’d like to change or achieve. Anything else that you have always wanted to know, but haven’t been given the time to ask previously.

Tell us what matters to you

We asses your dental health

Your clinician will carry out an examination and may recommend digital X-rays or clinical photographs where appropriate. This helps us understand your dental health clearly and accurately.

We’ll talk you through what we find in a clear, non-judgemental way. You’ll be given the treatment options, guidance and information you need to make the choices that feel right for you.

We explain your options

You decide what happens next

If treatment is recommended, we’ll explain the likely costs, timings and next steps. You’ll receive a treatment plan and detailed fees, so you can more forward feeling informed, comfortable and confident.

What happens next?

Depending on what you need we may arrange:

  • Routine dental care or hygiene appointments

  • Treatment for an existing dental problem

  • A further consultation with a clinician who has experience in the treatment you are considering

  • A personalised treatment plan with estimated costs and timing

You do not need to know exactly what treatment you need before you come in.

Nervous about visiting?

You are not alone. Many of our patients feel nervous about dental treatment, whether it’s been a while since your last visit or you’ve had a difficult experience in the past.

Please tell us before during your appointment. We’ll take things at a pace you’re comfortable with and make sure you have time to ask questions.

There is no judgement and no pressure.
