Let us tell you a little bit about The Lytham Dental Clinic.....

The Lytham Dental Clinic, which opened in 2005, is a flourishing private dental practice in the heart of Lytham. We have established a reputation for providing cosmetic, implant, specialist periodontal (gum health) and routine dental care of the highest quality, using the most advanced cosmetic dentistry techniques and materials available, including full computerisation, digital radiography, digital photography, intra-oral cameras, digital automatic shade-matching, 3D modelling, cosmetic imaging software, magnifying loupes and dental air-polishing. And for additional peace of mind, we have also invested in an external automated defibrillator. Our team has been trained by world leaders in state-of-the-art cosmetic, implant and general dentistry and, equally important, customer service.

 What makes you different from other dental clinics?

As soon as you enter The Lytham Dental Clinic you will see that we are no ordinary dental clinic. We take great pride in everything we do, giving our attention to the smallest details to provide a comfortable, relaxed environment and enabling excellence in general, cosmetic and implant dentistry. Because of this, we even have a number of dentists who seek treatment here at The Lytham Dental Clinic. Also in attendance are actors of stage and screen, and people from the sporting world.

We will do anything within our power to make you comfortable and relaxed; from luxurious seating to blankets and cushions, from DVD glasses to relaxing music and aromatherapy fragrances. All the little touches that give you that little bit extra. Your well-being is central to everything we do. You are always in complete control.

We take pride in continually exceeding patients’ expectations with our combination of excellent clinical skills and five star customer service. Indeed, our patients repeatedly declare that Dr Barnes and  Dr Williams are the best dentists that they have ever been to!

We could try to describe the differences to you all day, but we’d love more than anything to show you. So pick up the phone and experience The Lytham Dental Clinic!

What should I look for when choosing a new dentist?

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is the regulator for dental services in England. They provide comprehensive rules about how a practice should be operating and how patients should be cared for. They regularly inspect dental practices with very little notice. The Lytham Dental Clinic’s latest inspection was carried out in November 2012.

Please feel free to read the report here. Dentists are also individually regulated by the General Dental Council (GDC).

Choosing the right dentist is a very important step toward receiving the best care and outcome.  There are many dentists in the Fylde coast area, and they can all start looking the same, so here are some key aspects to look for in a high-quality dentist and what we can offer you:

Credentials – You want to make sure that the dentist you choose has proper dentistry credentials.  Ask them what organisations they are part of and if they have completed any postgraduate education.

Dr Barnes qualified at the University of Sheffield (when it was rated as the No.1 Dental school in the UK), he is registered with the GDC and the BDA.

Dr Williams qualified at University College, London (rated as the 4th best university in the world, according to QS World University Rankings 2013), he is registered with the General Dental Council and is a member of The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD). He is also one of only 6 dentists in the whole of Lancashire who are full members of the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (BACD) and one of only 29 dentists in the whole of The UK who sit as clinical panel members for the Dental Complaints Service.

In addition, Dr Williams and Dr Barnes travel extensively to train in the very latest procedures.We have built a reputation based on what we achieve.

Experience – Ask them how long they have been practicing dentistry.  You want to be comfortable with your dentist: by choosing a dentist who has seen many different patients and has performed many different procedures over the years, you will be sure they know what they are doing.

Dr Williams has been performing high level dentistry for over 22 years. He is experienced enough to have dealt with pretty much everything in dentistry, yet is young enough to maintain his massive enthusiasm and passion.

Dr Barnes has been caring for his patients for over 9 years now across the North of England. He has now settled permanently here on the Fylde Coast. He has a vast experience of Dentistry and is always striving to improve himself. He has been carefully selected by Dr Williams to continue the fantastic care that The Lytham Dental Clinic is known for.

Patient Care – When you contact the dentist, you should be treated with excellent, professional customer service. A quality dentist will also have an experienced and professional team and a practice that reflects the quality on offer.

A call to us will completely reassure you that you are in safe hands.

Before and After Photos – Be sure to review the dentist’s before and after photos. By looking at their past procedures, you can evaluate the quality of their work.

Here at The Lytham Dental Clinic, we have built up a massive portfolio of our cases. Simply ask to see our cases when you attend the clinic, or view a sample of our cases on this site.

Comprehensive Dentistry – You want to choose a dentist that is not just concerned with the way your teeth look, but your overall dental health.  Having a beautiful smile is no good if you have poor or deteriorating oral health.

At The Lytham Dental Clinic we pride ourselves on our thoroughness.

Honesty – There are risks and complications involved with every procedure: the dentist you choose should be honest about potential complications.

Honesty and openness is one of our philosophies.

Patient Education – A good dentist will make sure that you are fully informed about your dental procedure or treatment.  Your dental experience should not be a mystery: ask questions, you should know as much as possible about the dental procedure you are having.

At The Lytham Dental Clinic, we always explain your different options, using photographs, diagrams and your own x-rays and clinical photographs, in a simple, easy to understand manner. We are never rushed or under time pressure to accomplish this. We understand that knowledge is power.

Sense of Perfection – Your dentist should be meticulous in every aspect of their work.  A good dentist does not cut corners: they will strive to give you the best dental health possible.

This is clear from the amazing and consistent results that we achieve for our patients, here at The Lytham Dental Clinic.

Non-Forceful - You want to choose the right dentist, so don’t let them push you into a procedure or treatment.  You don’t want to be forced into anything you aren’t comfortable with.

All our treatment plans are offered with no obligation or pressure.

Great Team – If a dentist truly cares about the wellbeing of his/ her patients, then they will choose a team that reflects this.

We have very carefully selected each and every team member to provide the highest standards of care and service, and to share in the caring ethos of The Lytham Dental Clinic.

One of the best ways to determine if a dentist is high quality enough to work on your teeth is to schedule an initial consultation with them.  You can tell a lot about a dentist during the initial consultation.  Make sure they appear professional, take your needs into account, and understand you dental goals. Here at The Lytham Dental Clinic we always schedule an hour appointment for your initial consultation, so that we can invest time in understanding your condition. It is very important to us that you feel comfortable with the relationship that we build. Unlike many other dentists, we firmly believe that this cannot be done in 20 minutes!

What can I expect when I arrive at the clinic?

You will be welcomed into The Lytham Dental Clinic as if you are guests in our own home, not tersely asked to “sign in and take a seat” in a crowded waiting room! The feel is of a lavish home, not a dental surgery.

You will be greeted either by Amy, the Practice Director, Emma Laura, Lydia and Sophie our Treatment Coordinators. From here onwards, you will be offered:

  • a genuinely caring support team who will listen to you and look after you;
  • appointments to suit (early appointments, lunchtimes and evenings);
  • a relaxing and comfortable patient lounge with leather arm chairs and sofas;
  • a wide selection of refreshments;
  • a variety of up-to-date magazines;
  • a toothbrush if you wish to clean your teeth before you see the dentist;
  • hot towels to freshen up after your treatment;
  • a choice of perfumes, aftershaves and deodorants so that you can leave refreshed and invigorated.

We pride ourselves in the ‘extra mile’ we go to make your visit to us as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

We are proud of the environment that we have created to help you feel comfortable. Our patients notice how beautiful and modern our facilities are, and understand that the quality of our dental care is reflected in the quality and cleanliness of the practice.

It is our goal to be your partner in achieving dental excellence! We look forward to meeting you personally and in the meantime, here’s to great dental health.

Do you accept referrals?

Of course! We love referrals. Wonderful people refer wonderful people, so we look forward to treating your family and friends with the same expert care that we extend to you. We want to treat people we enjoy being with, and who, like you, only want the very best for their mouths. In this way, we can grow and flourish, and we can pride ourselves on knowing we are achieving happiness for our patients. Ask us about the special referral rewards you will receive when sharing the great news of our practice’s commitment to oral health and dental excellence with your family and friends!

At The Lytham Dental Clinic we are also happy to accept patient referrals from other dentists for complex or specialist work. We can assure that we will take great care of your patient and return them to your care post treatment. If you are a dental professional and wish to make a referral, please contact us.

How much does treatment cost?

There are many factors and variables when creating an individual treatment plan, so it is difficult to offer an answer to this. However, rest assured that after your initial consultation, which currently costs only £89 for an hour of Dr Barnes' or Dr Williams’ time, you will be presented with a full and comprehensive written breakdown of your investment. Whilst our fees reflect the quality and value of our work, we are extremely competitive and indeed our charges are considerably below comparable quality dentistry provided in larger cities. For fuller details of our fees, please see under ‘fees’.

How do I pay for my treatment?

Payment is normally taken for the treatment undertaken at each appointment. One can pay with cash, credit or debit card, cheque up to the guarantee card limit, or with a banker's draft or bank transfer. We also offer 0% finance for 12 months (subject to status).  Please ask for further details.

How can I ask The Lytham Dental Clinic questions directly?
