How confident are you to smile?
Are you concerned about smiling in public?
Do you have stained, cracked or crooked teeth?
Are you worried that you might have bad breath?
Do you clench or grind your teeth?
A warm genuine smile always creates a good first impression. And first impressions do count. A fleeting look lasting about 3 seconds is all it can take for someone to evaluate you at a first meeting. It seems unfair that people are stereotyped by their appearance, body language and mannerisms but we are all accomplices in this pattern of behaviour. One element that is unanimous when meeting someone for the first time – is your smile! The radiation of confidence from a brilliant smile will be recognised by everyone around you, both at work and in your private life. A smiling person is judged to be more pleasant, attractive, sincere, sociable and competent than a non-smiling person. “We live in a very image-conscious society and impressions are made within a few seconds” Mark Montano – host of the American version of 10 years younger.
Whatever condition your teeth and gums are in, we can help. We treat each case individually and with complete confidentiality and can offer solutions that encompass prevention, routine and cosmetic dentistry to a very high standard. You are always in complete control about the dentistry that you proceed with, and you will be fully informed along the way.
Self improvement is not vanity and is generally considered to be a sign of self respect. Whether you are attending an interview, trying for a promotion, attending a business meeting or presenting a sales pitch, you need your smile and it needs to be a good one!
Having a clean, fresh and white smile can also project the image of good health – a thing that all prospective and current employers want to see! There is now increasing evidence linking gum disease with heart disease and strokes. It is also the main reason for the loss of teeth and here at The Lytham Dental Clinic, we take the treatment of gum disease very seriously.
A recent American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) study conducted by Dr. Anne Beall, a social psychologist and market research professional, reveals that those who have undergone cosmetic dental procedures are perceived as more successful, intelligent, interesting, wealthy, attractive and popular with the opposite sex.
"In a business or personal setting, a confident smile says a lot about a person's belief in their ability to successfully complete the task at hand," said AACD member cosmetic dentist Dr Timothy Williams. "If a person's smile doesn't exude confidence, more cosmetic dental treatment options are available today than ever before, and can help virtually any patient."
